Making trips…I have been wrestling in my head on how to tell my family about me taking a solo trip to south america. My wife would storm me questions about where, when, and how. I have only vague ideas and no real answers. It seems I am using this excuse for not following through with my plan.

road to recovery

Did some biking this weekend. It was first real biking since I broke my collar bone back in last September. Monday morning everything in my body hurts. I feel old.

According to webmd I should be completely recovered by now. I just don’t think so. Everytime I pullup the handlebar I feel a tiny bubble popping in the shoulder. Very unpleasant sensation. At this rate it might take a full year to get completely well – very unsettling.

My review of wordpress:
It’s hard and harder but I find myself spending hours on it.

I really like the convenience of free tools and web space.
At beginning learning curve was horrible but as I understand the blogging lingos interface is becoming quite intuitive. Still by no means it’s easy.
I have invested many hours and I realized there are so much to learn.

Trying to blog and to learn new program is very difficult. I start out blogging and find myself trying to learn how to look nice enough for others read. By then I have lost what I was going to write.

I guess I need to learn how to use wordpress first then really dig into blogging.

60 km downhill ride to amazon

Looks like I need to plan logistics very carefully. So many places to ride and so little time.
First I need to plot all the possible destinations and plan realistically. I will post more
“point of interest”.

Since Equador is mountainous going down to town is easy but coming back up hill gonna be
difficult. Somehow I need to plan the route so we will be traveling in a loop.

I am leaning toward this mountain. It is very pretty mountain at 8900 meter. Not small at all.
Perfect downhill mountain. Maybe I can be first korean to downhill Cotopaxi ( kkkk ) .

Anyhow, its about 40 miles south of Quito. If I bring downhill bike it won’t be easy pedaling 40 miles
on 45lb bike. Plus it looks like 40 miles of up and down hill climbing.

I could always take a taxi but then I would regret it later.
This first trip I would like to be on bike all the time..
except for return trip to airport to save time of course

Expedia.com now has $525.00 tickets…….FCUK! time to pay tax…AGAIN >.<
If it’s $400 I would buy it at a heartbeat. But at 525 I don’t even have balls to tell my family.
Ever since ” Long Way Around ” I just can’t shake this adventure-fever off me. If I wait
after 4/15 and price goes up…??????????? This is a real piss-off dilemma.

I am thinking about South America trip. On a REAL cheap budget (have no money these days ). One of these countries.

Belize
Costa Rica
Ecuador
Peru
Bolivia

Solo is fine but 2 to 4 people will be better.
